Auctado ("we", "us", "our") operates https://auctado.com as a discovery service for auction listings. This policy describes how we handle information when you use the site.

Information we collect

We may collect:

Account information — if you register or sign in (including via Google, Facebook, Discord, LinkedIn, or email), our authentication provider may share your name, email address, and profile identifier with us.
Usage and activity information — searches you perform (including refinements and filters), listings shown to you, clicks through to auction company sites, and feature usage such as saving, comparing, or noting listings. We also collect device/browser type, IP address, and similar technical logs needed to operate and secure the service. In our analytics records we store geography only at the country/region level, not your IP address.
Anonymous session identifier — a random identifier stored in a first-party cookie (kept up to one year) that lets us understand activity within and across visits without knowing who you are. It contains no personal information and is not shared with third parties.
Location — only if you choose to allow browser location access, so we can sort nearby listings while you browse.
Saved items — if you are signed in, we store the watchlist items, private notes, saved searches, saved comparisons, game predictions, and notification preferences you create, along with a log of the alert emails and notifications we send you.

We do not require an account to browse listings. Bidding and checkout happen on third-party auction sites, not on Auctado.

How we use information

We use information to:

Provide, maintain, and improve the service;
Personalize browse results (for example, distance sorting);
Send saved-search alerts you request;
Protect against abuse, fraud, and security incidents; and
Comply with law and enforce our terms.

We may use aggregated or de-identified data for analytics and product improvement, including reports we share with auction companies about listing performance (for example, how many views and click-throughs their listings received). These reports contain aggregate numbers only — never your identity, account details, or session identifier. Private notes you write are never shared with auction companies.

Sharing

We may share information with service providers that help us run Auctado (hosting, authentication, email delivery, search infrastructure). We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies and similar technologies

We and our providers may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for sign-in sessions, preferences, and basic analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Retention

We keep information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Raw activity records (searches, clicks, and feature usage events) are deleted after approximately 24 months; aggregated, de-identified statistics and listing price history may be retained longer.

Your choices

Browse without signing in;
Opt out of usage analytics, advertising personalization, or the sale/sharing of your data at any time from the privacy section of your settings;
Decline location access or revoke it in your browser;
Manage saved searches while signed in; and
Request deletion of data associated with your account (see below). When we process a deletion request we remove your watchlist, notes, saved searches and comparisons, game history, and notification records, and we strip your account identifier from past activity records so they become anonymous.

Facebook data deletion

If you signed in with Facebook, you can remove the app from your Facebook settings and request deletion of data we received from Facebook about you. We provide a data deletion status page and an automated callback for Meta's data deletion workflow. You may also email info@auctionmethod.com at any time.

Children

Auctado is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect their personal information.

International users

If you access Auctado from outside the United States, you agree that information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where we or our providers operate.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of Auctado after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
